Louise is a registered architect with over sixteen years’ experience in private practice. She graduated in architecture from the University of Sheffield (1987-1993) and was subsequently awarded the prestigious Rome Scholarship in Architecture (1995). She was a director at Fraser Brown McKenna Architects from 2004-2008. From 2008-2010 she was a Senior Design Review Advisor at CABE with responsibility for coordinating advice on the design of particularly sensitive and complex high-profile projects. Louise joined the Tavernor Consultancy in 2010 and became a Company Director in 2017.
Louise manages the Consultancy with co-Director Lois Wheller and leads the Consultancy’s input on projects. She advises on architecture and urban design and contributes to the development and assessment of design proposals. Louise has advised on numerous sensitive and high profile developments in London including large scale masterplans at Earls Court, Leamouth South, Canada Water, the Royal Brompton Hospital and Elephant and Castle, tall buildings including 100 Leadenhall in the City of London and Capital House at London Bridge, and individual buildings including the Standard hotel at Kings Cross and the extension to the British Library. She also acts as an expert heritage and townscape witness at planning Inquiries.
